Today there has been further indication on how a possible reopening of the hospitality sector could look, with a view to businesses starting to open from July.
UKHospitality have unveiled their proposed roadmap to the UK government for Covid secure guidelines for the sector.
Some of the key points from the UKHospitality proposed guidelines include:
- Condiments would be removed from tables
- In hotels, self-service buffets should be prevented “as far as possible”
- Individually wrapped condiments and sauces should be given on request, moving away from sticky sauce bottles and salt and pepper pots
This means that hospitality operators need to be ready to provide guests with single portion, hygienically sealed sachets for items including sauces and condiments, salt & pepper, sugar & sweetener. For venues serving breakfast, individual portions of cereals, jams & spreads, sauce sachets and condiments to enjoy with cooked breakfasts, will form part of their every day “new normal” offering.
